As an Associate Manager EHS, you will support and perform EHS site activities as to ensure a safe place to work. Ensures site activities are in compliance with local authorities and Global Lonza legislation. Be a technical expert and represent EHS functions at site activities. This role will be responsible for two specific areas and manage small team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Be focal point of contact with authorities; coordinate/facilitate negotiation on related issues; resolve any compliance issues with authorities.

  • Provide leadership advice during the monthly safety, health and environmental safety meeting.

  • Conduct & lead regular inspection of the plant and ensure all safety measures are in place

  • Conduct & lead investigation to all environmental, health, fire and safety accidents and issues.

  • Lead and facilitate risk assessment for all equipment, process and non-routine work. Work to resolve all EHS concerns

  • Ensures site activities are in compliance with local authorities and Global Lonza legislation

  • Advise on the EHS risk assessments for new operations, new equipment and process changes such as new projects.

  • Lead and manage of EHS internal and external audits.

  • Lead and manage site Pandemic measures.

  • Lead a small team and perform annual performance management of all direct reports & provide continuous coaching and develop direct reports to help them meet both their career and personal development goals as to build a cohesive, productive and highly motivated team.

  • To maintain safety records, issuance of safety apparels and its budget.

  • Responsible in defined areas of EHS. Keeps up with current and future developments in EHS and related legislation/regulations.

  • Any other duties as assigned by your manager.

Key requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering / Environment / Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent with minimum 10 years of experience.

  • Relevant EHS background from a Manufacturing environment.

  • Hands-on experience leading, coordinating & interacting with internal departments, external vendors on safety related activities.

  • Registered Safety Officer with Ministry of Manpower (MOM).

  • Certified Fire Safety Manager with Singapore Civil Defense Force.

  • Meticulous and Systematic.

  • Team player, with strong focus on safety, quality and timelines.
